Open Call, science to rethink spaces

Science to Rethink Spaces Open call for designers, researchers, startups and interdisciplinary professionals promoted by RevoSteel Building SpA Home Sapiens®, a research and development project promoted by RevoSteel Building – an innovative startup active in the construction sector with CFS (Cold Formed Steel) technology – launches a call addressed to designers, researchers, architects, startups and interdisciplinary professionals to rethink the spaces inhabited by humans in light of new needs, social models and technological possibilities. Proposals are invited to challenge established housing models. The call is open to ideas, research, experiments, startup proposals and projects – unpublished or already developed for other competitions – capable of questioning and transforming the spaces where life happens: places of work, care, learning, relationships, waiting and leisure. Built spaces have a direct impact on the body, mind and behaviors. Each context is understood as a complex ecosystem, where measurable factors and perceptual dimensions, technology and biology, structure and culture intertwine. The challenge is to radically rethink everyday places and the relationship between humans and space, guiding design toward more conscious and responsible forms of individual and collective well-being. Proposals must challenge established housing models, explore new relationships between space, body and behavior, translate scientific research and interdisciplinary knowledge into concrete or speculative spatial scenarios, and imagine new uses, functions and meanings for environments. Research Areas Projects may explore, individually or in an integrated way, the following areas: light air water nature energy thermal-hygrometric comfort acoustics environmental microbiology electromagnetic fields physiology environmental psychology neuroscience ergonomics materials structure technologies and systems biomimetics sensory perception human-environment relationship cost-effectiveness Who It Is For The call is open to designers, researchers, architects, startups and interdisciplinary professionals. How to Participate Interested applicants must send their proposals via SwissTransfer or WeTransfer to info@homesapiens.tech, by June 10, 2026. The format is open and may include PDF files, JPG images, MP4 videos, architectural projects, photographs, multimedia files and research papers. Each participant is invited to choose the language or languages most suitable for presenting their work. Selection and Special Mention The selected projects will become part of the Home Sapiens working panel and will begin a collaboration process with the interdisciplinary team.
